22nd
International Choir Festival of Nis
Serbia
which will take
place
from 5th to 8th July 2008
The festival is organized every second year. It is a cross-cultural meeting which has not the competitive character. The organizers would like to establish a bridge connecting academic centers as well as their cultural representatives. The participants - amateur’s choirs from all over the world - are united by the universally understood language of music. A singing community is symbolized by the final performance by the massed choirs. The festival also has a simpler merit: to present the musical culture of different countries, to inspire through cultural variety and encourage exchanging experiences. We warmly invite you to enrich the Festival by your participation.
Details: amateur ensembles with high performers abilities, which will be chosen from applications and other received material, have the. Right to participate at the International Choir Festival in 2008.the Limit of two compositions can be performed with the aid of instruments. the Number of performers, including a conductor, can not exceed 40, and the complete length of performance is limited to 20 minutes. the Rights for TV and Radio broadcasts will be withheld by the Cultural Center of Nis, which maintains the management of the whole manifestation. Choirs will be graded by the International jury and the Jury of the audience. Official diplomas and certificates will be rewarded by the jury’s Presidents at the final evening of the Festival (8 th july).
You are supposed to send the following things in order to apply:
- festival application
- CV of the Choir and a conductor
- Choir’s and conductor’s photos
- Scores of the applied program in duplicate
- CD recordings of the recent choir's performing (not older than two years)
The Registration fee for the participation at the festival (300 Euros) can be paid on the account designated for ICF 2008, or on Your arrival in Nis.
Please note that the participants cover the travel expenses on their own, while the host covers the accommodation and food expenses.
